Hi everyone, I’m so happy that Spring is finally on its way, we had some gorgeous sunshine today and daffodils are blooming everywhere!  We’re going to Twycross zoo on Sunday so I’m crossing my fingers for more sun.

With the weather warming up slightly, I’ve been thinking about my Spring wardrobe and getting excited about putting away the thick jumpers and boots in favour of pretty blouses, cute flats and t-shirts.

I recently received this lovely white kaftan from Tresspass which has a delicate floral print with orange-red accents. It has an adjustable drawcord in the same orange-red tone which you can pull according to how fitted you want the waist to be. The loose shape is flattering for all body types and it’s a nice length (I’m 5ft 4). The website shows only one size option so I think it is one-size-fits-all but the label says M so I’m not sure how that works, but nevertheless I think it fits fine – you know I love the oversized look anyway!

When I choose items of clothing, I always consider the various ways I can wear them, and with what. That’s why I love this top – it’s marketed as a beach cover-up, which I definitely will be using it as when I go on holiday later in the year, but I think it also looks great as a tunic! It is made from polyester though so I’m not sure how cool it will keep me in the heat, although the loose airy fit will help.

Worn as a tunic, this kaftan is perfect for an easy breezy but stylish everyday look – just pair with skinny jeans or even leggings and some plain sandals or flats in a neutral colour and you’re good to go anywhere!

Tresspass is mostly known for it’s outdoor clothing and equipment, but they also stock some fantastic swimwear and other clothes, even cute dresses, casual tops and blouses like this one. Their prices are very reasonable too and they seem to often have a sale on.

I hope you enjoyed this post, what do you think of the kaftan being worn as a tunic? Thanks for reading lovelies! XO

Date Night Outfit: Stripes & Leopard

Top: ROMWE | Jeans: Topshop (old) | Bag (Eva): Louis Vuitton | Shoes: New Look (similar) | Necklace: Christmas gift

Hi there! I wore this outfit last weekend for a date night, and the only chance we had to snap a quick photo of me wearing it was when we got back to my parents’ house afterwards, so apologies for the quality! We went to see Katherine Ryan, the comedian and had a really fun time.

This striped top is so comfortable and I love how I can dress it up or down. It has slightly batwing sleeves and is made from a stretchy fabric, and it’s a definite staple in my wardrobe now – I’ve got a feeling I’ll be wearing it a lot this Spring, mostly with jeans and flats. I paired the top with my ripped jeans for a relaxed look, but then added my pretty statement necklace and leopard print pointy heels for a more put-together and chic look. I used my Luis Vuitton Eva bag with the cross-body strap, which matched the brown tones in my shoes really well.

Did you notice in the photos I’m wearing shoe straps over my leopard print heels? These were from Amazon and they are amazing! My shoes slipped off at the heels because I have such narrow feet and I tried heel grips which didn’t work, then I almost sold the shoes! But I did a little Google search for straps for loose shoes and these came up and they work a treat. I think they look okay and not too strange, right? Some people even said they look like part of the design of the shoes. If you have the same problem you should try these straps out!

Have a fantastic weekend everyone and thank you for reading! XO

Valentine’s Day Lunch

Shirt: Ebay | Jeans: ROMWE | Lizzy’s dress: H&M | Cardigan: Asda | Boots: Clarks

Hello lovely people, I hope you have had a romantic and fun weekend! Our little family of 3 had an early Valentine’s Day lunch on Saturday at a restaurant called 1573 in Leicester, which I was really looking forward to, and the food didn’t disappoint!

I’ll start off with my look for the day and then talk about the food! This lip print shirt is one of my favourite ever tops and it was just so cheap from eBay, the only thing is it does get a bit static, so I use hairspray on it which seems to help (thanks Google for that tip!) I did plan on wearing my black slim treggings and black sandals as seen in this post, however as I wore the treggings to work in a nursery on Friday and spent most of the day on the floor with the little ones, they were too dirty to wear. As for the shoes, if you live in the UK you’ll know just how freezing the temperatures have been recently! So I decided to save my toes and wore my black River Island boots instead.

Lizzy doesn’t look too happy in these photos, she really isn’t one for posing is she?! Her red dragonfly print skirt is actually a summer dress, with a cardigan over it. These Clarks boots just go with everything and she wears them almost every single day!

Here is my hair and makeup closer up. For my hair I used a heat protection spray and curled it quickly using straighteners, just grabbing random sections, then set with a little hairspray. For my makeup I used the golden shades from my Urban Decay Naked Palette on the top lid, Rimmel Exaggerate liquid eyeliner and a brown eyeliner pencil under the bottom lashes. My lipstick is Elizabeth Arden Red Door Red, which is non-drying and feels comfortable on my lips. My vintage pearl necklace was a birthday gift from my husband last year.

I absolutely love my Lulu Guinness lips clutch. Of course I had to get it out for a Valentine’s Day outfit! My nail polish is Bluesky Hollywood Red and I added cute little gold heart studs, you can see my post about it here.

Now on to the food…

We had the Valentine’s Day set menu for £29.95 per person for 3 courses, which is not cheap but we hadn’t been out for a nice meal in a long time (McDonald’s and a quick pizza at Zizzi’s doesn’t really count!) so we wanted to treat ourselves. For Lizzy we ordered her fish fingers and chips which kept her happy, and Joseph had bbq baby back ribs, steak for his main course and the same dessert as me, which you’ll see below!

The starter I chose was smoked salmon blinis with soft cheese and black pepper. These were really yummy!

My main course was grilled sea bass fillets with lemon butter, served with cajun rice, vegetables and salad. This was lovely, tasty but not too overpowering. I didn’t quite finish the whole plate as I had to try Joseph’s steak, which was delicious!

Then finally the course I was looking forward to the most! I was already full but managed to eat two thirds of this scrumptious warm chocolate brownie and vanilla ice cream. Looking back at this makes me drool a little bit!

All in all a really lovely lunch spent with my two favourite people. This was slightly different to my usual posts but I hope you enjoyed it! How did you spend the Valentine’s weekend? By the way if you’d like to follow me on Instagram it would mean the world to me. Thank you so much for reading 🙂 XO
