Wine Swing Dress

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had a fantastic start to the year, we spent lots of time with family and this is what I wore on New Years Eve at a family gathering at my sister’s house. This wine-coloured swing dress is so easy to wear and comfortable and the longer knee-length (I’m 5ft 4) means it’s appropriate for so many occasions, I might even wear it to work. Looking back at the pictures on the website I probably should have gotten the XS instead of small but I don’t mind how it fits on me as I do like things to be a bit oversized. It took a few weeks to arrive but I got a few items from there and the prices are really great and everything I got was on sale with free delivery. With the simple dress I wore my pretty statement necklace which my sister bought for me for Christmas and my old boots from Oasis.

We’re off to Centre Parcs (Sherwood Forest) for the week tomorrow I am so excited! I’ve wanted to go for years and my husband finally gave in as it’s for my birthday (he’s not so keen on the idea of Centre Parcs but has promised not to moan AT ALL the whole trip!) My twin sister is visiting for a day while we’re there and the guys are looking after the kids – it is both our birthdays after all! – so we can have a girly pamper day, this is the part I’m looking forward to the most! We’ll also be having lots of walks in the forest and swimming in the ‘subtropical pool’ šŸ™‚ Have you been to Centre Parcs before? I’m interested to see if you enjoyed it, I know it’s probably not for everybody.

Thanks for reading and have a lovely week!

My Christmas Wish List

With just one month to go, and all the Christmas adverts are on in full swing, it’s time to get into the festive spirit! I’ve already done half of my Christmas shopping (mostly online – I’ve been quite organised this year) and I’ve been thinking about all the things that I would like to receive! So here it is, my ultimate Christmas Wish List…

image

A DSLR CameraĀ

Of the research that I’ve done, this Nikon D3300 seems to be the best entry-level DSLR to get (at the right price for us), and if I’m a good girl this wish might actually come true! Until now, I’ve been using my iphone for photos, which I dropped and broke last week and so haveĀ been using my mum’s old Samsung phone which doesn’t have the best camera! I can’t wait to start taking decent quality pictures both for my blog and for personal photos, especially of my daughter.

Classic Camel Coat

I’ve wanted one of these for a couple of years now, just a simple, beautiful, timeless wool camel coat like this one. But this year I’ll have to make do with coats from previous years.

Pretty Statement NecklaceĀ

I can’t believe I don’t own a statement necklace yet, they are absolutely everywhere. I’m more of a dainty jewellery kind of girl but I would love to receive something like this one from Next (hint hint family members who are reading this!) I love the gold toned chain and the pretty pastel coloured gems.

Travel Makeup PaletteĀ

I would be so happy if I got this palette by Dior for Christmas! It contains the most gorgeous shades that can create so many different looks, and would streamline my travel makeup bag. The zip-up case is beautiful too.

Chunky Cream Cable Knit JumperĀ

These seem to never go out of style and this one looks so cosy – I do love a good oversized jumper. IĀ can just imagine wearing it with skinny jeans and my red Hunter boots for a casual look. I have to resist buying it though because I’ve just ordered a couple of jumpers that I’m waiting patiently to arrive!

Berry Heeled Boots

I’ve begun to realise that writing this wish list was probably not the best idea – I seriously want these boots! They look comfortable and smart, and are such a beautiful colour, love them! I’ll have to hope they don’t sell out and I’ll be looking out for them in the sales.

So that’s my Christmas Wish List, done! Which of these items are now on yours?

Thanks for reading! XO

OOTD: Blanket Wrap

Blanket Wrap: New Look (similar)| Jumper: Primark | Jeans: River Island | Boots: Dune | Bag: Storksak ElizabethĀ

Hi guys, so I thought it was about time I wrote an outfit of the day post, and I decided to wear one of my most recent purchases the other day: this black and white checked blanket wrap (which looks grey from a distance) from New Look. I only bought it a few weeks ago but I can’t find it online so I linked a similar striped one above which I also love. This blanket wrap is great for these Autumn days that aren’t quite cold enough for a winter coat but you need more than a cardigan. It’s perfect for short walks and other times when you’re outside for a short time and it’s just so easy to throw on over a shirt, poloneck or jumper.

Blanket wraps aren’t to everyone’s taste but I think they look so stylish. You can wear them just loose as a kind of cape like I did, or throw one side over a shoulder, or with a belt, which I might try next. You can wear a shoulder bag with a blanket wrap, as shown in my second photo (I wasn’t sure I’d be able to before I tried mine on!) if you’re interested you can read my ‘What’s in my Storksak bag’ post here.

My outfit was super casual but I can imagine wearing my blanket wrap for a date night with heeled boots and a black poloneck jumper – we’re planning on going to see Spectre soon, I can’t wait!

I’d love to read your thoughts on my look, what do you think of blanket wraps? Thanks for stopping by! XO
