Dress & Leggings set: Next (similar short sleeve dress) | Boots: Clarks (similar)

Hi lovely readers, I hope you had a great week, I’m so ready for the weekend! This outfit was what Lizzy wore on Monday to a playgroup. I purchased the dress and leggings set before Christmas with a discount when Next were doing their ‘introduce a friend and get £20’ offer, so I got it for peanuts! The dress is comfy and the long sleeves and thick material keep her nice and warm without having to wear a cardigan over it, just a vest underneath. I love the pretty floral design and as it’s still slightly big for her I’m hoping she can wear it next year too. The leggings have a little sparkle to them which is really cute and a bit different. The western style boots from Clarks are a few months old also, and Lizzy wears them ALL the time since they’re the only winter footwear she owns apart from wellies! They pretty much go with everything though so they were a great buy.

Did your mum used to put ribbons in your hair as a child? Mine never did, but I’ll always remember how envious of other girls’ hairstyles and ribbons I was! I think they look so sweet and classic, and so inexpensive – I just used some that I had in my card-making craft box. The pink hairclips were from an accessory set gifted from Lizzy’s Godmother.

We’re celebrating Chinese New Year this weekend at my parents – we’ll be having a big feast on Sunday, yum! What are you up to?

Thanks for stopping by today! XO

Mother & Daughter Style: Floral Dresses

image

Hello lovely readers! I thought a Mother & Daughter outfits post was long overdue, and even though this one wasn’t planned I took the opportunity on a walk we went on last week to get my husband to take some shots for me (luckily we were actually wearing some decent outfits!)

It was such a beautiful day so we decided to go to a country park near where we live for a walk along the river. Lizzy and I both wore pretty floral dresses and jelly sandals!

What I Wore: Dress: ASOS (love this red floral maxi dress) | Sandals: Emma’s Mode | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

What Lizzy Wore: Dress: Gifted from Lizzy’s Godmother | Glitter Jelly Sandals: Next (similar)

I don’t have many red items in my wardrobe but I love this floral dress I purchased from ASOS at the beginning of the year. It’s so easy and comfortable to wear and the drop-waist gives it some shape. I also like how it is slightly longer at the back. These pinky-nude jelly sandals go with everything and add a little cuteness as well as a touch of bling! See up-close photos and a review of them here.

Lizzy’s dress is so sweet, I love the ditsy green and blue floral print and the frilly lace detail. The orange bow sets it off nicely and I put matching hair clips in her hair. I’m so pleased Lizzy’s hair is getting longer, I can’t wait to be able to plait it! The glitter jelly shoes are my favourite pair for Lizzy right now and she loves them too, she wants to wear them even when we’re just at home!

I’ll leave you with this view and a shot of the back of my dress, isnt the English countryside gorgeous? Thank you so much for visiting today! XO

How To Style Mocks (& Review)

imageLast week I was excited to be asked to review a pair of Mocks shoes. Have you heard of them yet? I hadn’t, so I headed over to their website and was happy to see that they look cool yet comfortable. There are so many colours to choose from and I opted for the Mocklite Classic ii in Coral, which comes with both red and light blue laces. I prefer the blue laces as I like the contrast against the pinky coral shoe.

This is what Mocks say about their shoes (from their website):

‘Womens Moccasins from Mocks are a stylish and practical new take on womens moccasins shoes.

Womens Mocks are the ideal casual footwear for a range of locations, from the bar to the beach. Mocks take the classic design elements of ladies moccasins shoes and add a modern twist with the materials and the colours that are used. Our womens Mocks are made from an innovative new material which we simply like to call Mocklite.

Our moccasins for women come in a range of colours so you can match your soul to your soles. Where ever they take you, you’ll look great and feel great in our take on womens moccasins shoes – that’s the Mocks effect.’

With this in mind, I put together two outfits which I think will look great for everyday wear, for travelling or to wear to the beach!

Slogan t-shirt: New Look | Boyfriend jeans: Topshop | Shoes: Mocks (c/o)

Floral dress: Yesstyle (similar) | Shoes: Mocks (c/o)

I think the Mocks look great with a simple pair of jeans and a t-shirt, and I also like the way it dresses down my floral dress, which coincidentally matches the shoes perfectly!

These Mocks might remind you of the dreaded Crocs (which I wouldn’t touch with a barge pole) but I actually really like the look of these and they’re fun and comfortable to wear.

They are lemon scented (yes, really!) which is a nice touch, and are designed to be breathable. They are also machine washable which is a bonus and they are well made – I’m sure they’ll last for ages. The only thing is that I find the sides to come up a bit high and dig in a bit into my ankles, but I have narrow feet so this may not be a problem for others.

Prices for a pair start from £40, so it won’t break the bank. They also do kids Mocks (starting from size 10) so you can match with your minis!

Thank you for reading! What do you think of the Mocks? Which colour would you choose and how would you style them?
