My Spring Wish List

Even though it’s officially Springtime it doesn’t feel like it yet – we are still wearing our winter coats here in the UK! So to cheer me up I thought I’d do a little online window shopping, and I came up with a Spring wish list…even though I definitely can’t afford some of these I may just cave in and purchase a few of these gorgeous items!

1, 2. I love anything floral and I’ve been seeing floral shoes everywhere. These two options are beautiful and the flats are only £17.99!

3. I have the original Urban Decay Naked Palette and would love the Naked 3 for the pinky tones, but I may have to settle for a cheaper dupe.

4. I’ve never tried an Essie Polish (gasp!) but I would love this beautiful powder blue shade.

5. I love a good tinted lip balm and this Carmex one looks great, plus it has SPF.

6. I love monochrome stripes and this maxi skirt is only £10, love it!

7. Staying with the floral theme for Spring, this midi skirt is so cute.

8. I really want to add this chambray shirt to my wardrobe, and would look great with both of these skirts and so much else!

9. These sunglasses are way out of my price range but I think they’re just amazing!

10. This Kate Spade watch is so sweet, I love rose gold things.

11. How cute is this cross body bag? It’s just perfect for Spring/Summer. Not the most practical though!

12. Love love love these adorable Tiffany rose gold twisted bow earrings. Well, this is a wish list, right?

I do hope you enjoyed my first Wish List post, see you again! XO

Lace Detail Jumper

I wore this outfit to take Lizzy to our local baby and toddler playgroup the other day which we try to go to twice a week.  I took these pictures while she napped after we got home, hopefully I’ll be able to include her in my next outfit post! But here are a couple of photos of her playing earlier that day:

What I wore:

The royal blue jumper is a great casual, everyday top that looks good with jeans but it’s lace panel adds interest. It’s from Yesstyle, this one is really cute too.  My skinny jeans (here) go with everything and I wear them all the time.  My black boots are a couple of years old from River Island, they are so comfortable (similar).  Here is a closer-up picture of them:

imageWhat Elizabeth wore:

Heart print top from H&M. This cardigan is really cute.  The striped skirt and boots are from Mothercare and the dotty bow hair clip that matched the colours of her top is from Ebay.  I love this striped dress from Gap.  One of the best things about having a girl is definitely the dressing up!

imageThis photo shows my makeup – it’s a simple and easy everyday look that I did using my Naked Palette and Rimmel Exaggerate liquid eyeliner. I polished off the look using a red lipliner and lipstick (YSL Rouge Volupte Shine no.4) .  I don’t wear foundation and prefer to just use concealer under my eyes and powder.  I might do a more in-depth post on my everyday makeup look, what do you think?  I didn’t do anything with my hair, I literally brushed it and that was it as my hair is naturally poker-straight.

imageThe jewellery I wore are some of my favourites – can you tell I love hearts and butterflies?  The gold earrings are from a trip to Dubai years ago, I adore them but they do jangle about a bit!  The necklace was a wedding gift from my parents which they bought in Hong Kong.  My mum asked me what kind of necklace I wanted and I said something with hearts or a butterfly and this is what they chose, and I absolutely love it.  It’s made from 3 tone gold which is really unique.

10 Favourite Beauty Products

Hello there!  For my first beauty related post, I thought I’d share 10 of my favourite beauty products.  I don’t buy a huge amount of makeup and I’m quite careful about what I buy as I hate wasting money on ‘experimental’ items, and the things I do purchase tend to last a long time.  I like both high street and luxury brands, and most of the time I really don’t see much of a difference in the quality or performance of the products, just nicer packaging!

1. Urban Decay Naked Palette – the original and arguably the best.  I haven’t tried the other Naked Palettes but I LOVE this one. Yes it’s expensive at £37 but the shadows are a great quality, long-wearing and I can create so many different looks, ranging from barely there natural to dramatic and smokey.  I have used all the colours but my favourites are: Virgin for highlighting the brow bone; Half Baked and Smog for an everyday neutral golden-brown look; and Toasted with Hustle for a smokey mauve look that’s a slight variation to the usual brown/grey smokey eye.

2. Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof Mascara in Blackest Black – just a great value, all-round mascara which I keep repurchasing.  I don’t know about you, but some mascaras, especially ones that aren’t waterproof make my curled lashes wilt downwards, a big boo-boo!  So when I find mascaras that hold the curl I tend to stick to what I know.

3. Revlon Lip Butter in Peach Parfait – this is a gorgeous peachy colour with a subtle gold shimmer.  It’s so wearable and feels lovely and soft on my lips.

4. Clinique Blushing Blush Powder in Smoldering Plum – I bought this with a gift voucher a couple of years ago.  It’s a beautiful medium pinky colour and gives a natural healthy colour to my cheeks and I use it all the time.

5. Rimmel Salon Pro Kate nail polish in Disco Fever – this bright purple colour is one of my favourites and the formula of the polish is really good.  I think it’s the Lycra in it, which helps the colour to stay on for about 6 days without chipping or peeling!

6. Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat – this makes nail polishes super shiny and helps them to stay put for longer, and dries relatively quickly too.

7. Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Eyeliner this is easy to use, the brush is great, you can get a perfect point and it lasts all day, oh and it’s reasonably priced – what more could you want in a liquid eyeliner?!

8. Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me – a fantastic lip balm with a natural hint of colour and shine that’s perfect for days you don’t want to wear lipstick.  Makes my lips really soft, smooth and it smells yummy!

9. Superdrug Shine Control Papers – I always carry these around with me rather than a compact powder as I don’t like the idea of the pad absorbing all the oil (yuck!). These are brilliant as you just rip one sheet out, dab it over your t-zone and voila! Looks like freshly applied powder again.

10. Guerlain Terracotta Light Summer Bronzing Powder  – this is expensive but I purchased it a few years ago and I still love it so much, isn’t the packaging beautiful? It has a subtle shimmer and gives a natural-looking glow.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post!
