With just 4 days until Valentine’s Day, I had to paint my nails either pink or red, right? Since I’ll be wearing my red lips printed shirt (see my outfit and makeup for the day here), naturally I chose red, and added cute gold heart studs on my ring fingers. This gorgeous pillar-box red is a UV gel polish by Bluesky called Hollywood Red. I did my nails last night using my UV gel home kit (purchased from Amazon) and can be confident they won’t chip for over a week. The heart studs are from a pack from EBay and cost about £1! They took a few weeks to arrive though but it comes with various shapes and there is a lot in the pack.
My red lipstick shown is Revlon Really Red and the lip liner is Rimmel Exaggerate lip liner in Red Diva – these are the perfect match for my red nails!
Our little family of 3 are celebrating Valentine’s Day on Saturday with lunch at a restaurant we’ve wanted to visit for ages, I am so excited to spend some a quality time just the 3 of us, since the last few weekends were spent with other family!
What are your plans for the weekend? Or are you a last-minute decider? Thanks for reading! XO
Jumper: Very (old, similar here) | Shirt: Matalan, here | Jeans: Topshop, similar here | Boots: River Island (old, but I love these)
Hi everyone! Firstly I am so sorry for the awful photos taken from this phone camera, I broke my iphone last week and am using my mum’s old Samsung and the camera is awful! I cannot wait to get my DSLR camera for Christmas so I can start taking quality photos for this blog!
Onto this outfit – it was the 1st of December yesterday which means Christmas is practically around the corner, so what better way to get into the spirit of things than to wear lots of red? This ‘tomato red’ v-neck jumper is from last year and I love this layered look with a checked shirt underneath. I wore these with my ripped boyfriend jeans (the knee holes are getting bigger and bigger every time I wear them!) and my old lace up boots. Coincidentally my nails were already painted red, but I had to add the red lipstick to match, of course! I wore Revlon Really Red.
I hope you’re all having a great week, I’m looking forward to going to the Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park on Friday, we’ve been the last few years, and this time we’re taking Lizzy to see the circus show there.
Thanks for visiting my friends! XO
This is my perfect red nail colour, it’s so vibrant and I love the name, I actually own a bikini in this exact shade! I’ve had this polish for way too long – the print has been rubbed off the bottle and you can see how little there is left inside, plus it’s gone quite gloopy – oops, definitely time for a re-purchase. I’ve been wearing pink and coral nail polishes a lot this summer and forgot how much I love red nails. So classic!
I applied the usual two coats of Bikini Red, then topped off with a coat of Revlon top coat which gives a lovely shine and helps to protect the colour. I find Revlon nail polishes usually last a few days before chipping.
With bold red nails like this, you can’t go wrong with a matching lipstick, this one is YSL Rouge Volupte Shine no.4.
I try to use a cuticle oil every night before I go to bed, after using hand cream to keep my cuticles and the skin around my nails moisturised. I hate having dry hands and there’s nothing worse than dry skin to ruin a nice manicure!
Do you love bright red nail polish as much as I do? Thanks for reading! XO
